Trataka – Candle Gazing

Trataka – Candle Gazing

Sit down in your usual place of meditation and allow yourself to be comfortable.

Light a small candle or tea light and keep it at a natural eye distant on the floor. Just make sure the candle will not burn the floor or anything else. Have tissues in your hand to wipe the tears.

Now.. with a straight erect spine and a comfortable seat think of your God or positive thoughts and gaze at the candle flame. Keep staring at it without blinking the eyes. This is hard, it takes practice to stop the blinking so don’t beat yourself up if you don’t quite get it immediately. It will come do not worry. So, in silence, a nice warm candle flowing its light, let the tears just flow down your cheeks, let the nose run also.. This is all great !!! It’s cleaning out the junk behind the sinuses and the eyelids. Around 10 mins or so begin to slowly retract from the candle flame and shut your eyes for a few minutes for them to come back to normal.

Flush your face with cold water and voila !!! You will have new refreshed eyes and a cleared up nostrils hopefully.

Make sure all meditation practices are done responsibly and with no health concerns.

My focuses are my own. They are written with my understanding and perceptions of the world, the situation and/or my truth on the subjects. What is my Satya may not be yours. You have to find your own Truth, your own Satya. Travel the world as much as you can, go and visit places of beauty and sacredness. Get involved with your community and help where you can. Only then you too will find experiences and life lessons. If you do nothing… then nothing does you!
